Charity organization MS Research can expect a donation of at least sixteen-thousand euros from ITM and sister companies in June, this year. Seventy employees will run the Half Marathon/4 English Miles in Zwolle for the foundation.
Not only employees will look for sponsors, ITMGroup’s board of directors has assured that the company will donate 25 euros per participant and double the final amount of money that is collected. Using the fundraising platform, participants have already collected more than 6.000 euros, by April 20th.
Enthusiasm among colleagues from European sites to run
“From the moment this idea has been put forward, we noticed a lot of enthusiasm”, says Arend Luten, one of the organizers. “As colleagues we take part in the Half Marathon in Zwolle every year. Because of the fundraising campaign this year, even more colleagues want to take part. Not only Dutch colleagues will run, even co-workers from Luxembourg and Poland have signed up and will travel to Zwolle.”
A fundraise project without a limit
Executive Board Member Hester Kuypers-van der Sluis is happy about the enthusiasm. “Within our organization there are several employees that suffer from MS, as patient or bystander. The disease has a lot of impact. If we can contribute to research into a cure with this project, we are gladly to do so.” This is why the board of directors hasn’t set a financial limit. A grand spectacle in Zwolle
The running event, which has been organized since 2001, bears the name Half Marathon of Zwolle, but also has a running distance of 4 English miles. The past few years this event has been very popular with thousands participants and spectators.
